Hello all--it has been a while since my last update so I have a lot to fill you in on. Since leaving San Diego we have pulled into Guam and Singapore...very cool.

Guam was not all that impressive. We spent most of our free time on the beach or perusing local tourist shops for the ugliest tropical themed t-shirts we could find. You can see the outcome of that endeavour depicted in the image below appropriately titled "shirts we bought to look stupid but funny at the same time".

Singapore lived up to everyone's expectations. To say that it was amazing would be an understatement--so I won't. It was spectacular! Ha! The first day the group spent walking around in the shopping district. The public transportation is better than any I have seen--and it took us to exotic places like Little India and Orchard Road. Little India probably topped the list of crazy things I have seen so far--and I have been witness to some pretty outrageous stuff--when we took a detour through the local outdoor food market. I'm telling you, that day I smelled some of the most putrid scents in my life. It was like ever new smell was the worst than the last. Absolutely horrifying. The next day was spent indulging ourselves in food and beverage. We walked all over the city and just planned as far as the next bar or cool looking site. We finally ended up in a Hookah bar which was an interesting experience

Other than that, life onboard the ship isn't bad. I spend most of my time standing watch or studing for something. When we do have a bit of free time we spend it playing SWO--a version of horse using a small basketball hoop in one of our rooms. It gets pretty intense as you can see.

I miss you all very much. Nicole and I are able to talk almost everyday via telephone or email. She is handling all this ery well and we look forward to the holidays...Thanksgiving in LA and Christmas in Maryland/Newport. I urge you all to shoot her an email as she is really doing some cool things with her little life while I am away. Plus, she misses Annapolis so if you can send her a familiar anecdote or picture I am sure she will appreciate it more than you know.
